Snowball Fight   By: Christy, Mandy, Still Reeka, Cheryl

Lorelai and Luke have a snowball fight.

Lorelai walked into Luke's as he was cleaning up. She was almost covered in snow.

"Lorelai?" Luke said, smiling.

"Hi, Luke. It's snowing really hard out there."

"Yeah."

"Let's go have some fun."

"What?" Luke asked, startled.

"Come on Lukey, snow is magical. Let's go play in it or something."

"Play? Lorelai, we're not five."

"So... Adults are allowed to have fun in the snow too. Why do you think Aspen's so popular?"

He laughed, "I'm not playing in the snow with you Lorelai."

"Would you play in the snow with Mimi?"

"Who?"

"Mimi, you remember Mimi don't you?"

"Yeah. But, the answer's still no."

"Please, come on Luke!"

"No."

"You're just afraid you'll lose the snowball fight!" She countered, sticking out her tongue.

Luke gave her a 'yeah, whatever' look. "No, I'm not."

She smiled. "So you will?"

"No. I have better things to do. Like make a living."

"If you come outside and play, I'll come back in and help you make a living," she bargained.

He scoffed. "You're going to help cook food for customers?"

Lorelai wrinkled her nose. "I was thinking more along the lines of *being* a customer."

"Since you're a customer anyhow, that wouldn't be much of a deal now would it?" Luke responded.

"I refuse to purchase anything until you come outside."

"Like I believe that. You can't go without coffee for a day, and it's freezing outside."

Lorelai didn't attempt to argue, and instead resorted the famous pout.
"Pleeease, Luke? Pretty please with a carrot on top?"

“Fine,” Luke said conceding. “Cesar,” he called, “I’ll be back in ten minutes.”

“Ten minutes?” Lorelai asked pouting. “You can’t have a good snowball fight in ten minutes.”

“Ten minutes,” he growled. “I have to get something upstairs.”

“This doesn’t count as the ten minutes,” she called as he walked upstairs.
“Every minute you spend up there adds another minute to my ‘play time.’”

Luke grabbed his mittens from his apartment and was just about to walk
back down when he took a second pair of mittens from the drawer.

“These aren’t very pretty,” Lorelai said as he pushed them into her hands.

“They weren’t made to be pretty,” he said. “They’re to keep your hands warm.”

“Some people have pretty mittens,” she said.

“Put them on,” he said.

“Bossy,” she said, grinning.
She put the mitten on her left hand and then looked at the mitten.
She would have to take the one mitten off to put the other one on. What a conundrum!

“This doesn’t count as the ten minutes either,” she said to Luke, who was trying not to smile.

“We’ll be here all day,” he said before taking her right hand. She looked up at him in surprise.
He put the other mitten on.

“I want to hold your hand,” she crooned softly.
It was easier to sing then to think about his hand in hers.

He grunted, taking his hand away. “Clocks ticking.”

“Meanie,” she said. “Come on.”

He reluctantly followed her outside. “I don’t know what to do first,”
she cried excitedly. “Snow angels, or build a snowman or a snowball fight.”
Definitely the last one, she thought, and aimed for her favorite flannel-clad target.
The snowball didn’t even come close. She frowned discouraged and started making a snowman.

Luke watched her for a second and looked around. He picked up some snow and formed a ball.

Lorelai turned around. “You better not be aiming at me, mister.”

“I’m not,” he said. “Quiet for a second.” He had a better target.
Luke had a clear shot and a pretty good arm so the ball hit its target.

“Jesus,” Jess yelled as the ball hit his back. “What the hell?” He turned around angrily,
but not before Luke and Lorelai had managed to hide behind Kirk’s oddly shaped snowman.
Jess gave one last glare to the town in general before walking into the diner.

“Hey, I’m trying to work here,” Kirk cried.

“Times up,” Luke said.

“I want to throw like that. Teach me?” she asked following him into the diner.

“I have to work,” he said.

“After work. Tonight. Can we play in the snow?”

“It’ll be dark,” he said rationally.

“That’s when it’s most fun,” she said. “Please?”

“Fine,” he said wondering what he had gotten himself into.

Lorelai threw a snowball and hit Luke in the butt. He turned around, looked at her sternly and then grinned.
He bent over, gathered some snow, molded it into a ball and threw it at Lorelai.
She jumped out of the way and the snowball hit Kirk who was walking nearby.

"Ahhh!" Kirk yelped, but the other adults didn't pay him any attention.

"Haha!" Lorelai giggled, "Missed me, missed me, now ya gotta kiss me!" She stuck out her tongue and took off running.

Luke thought about saying "What are we, in second grade?" But, then got a better idea. He took off running after her.
Once he caught up to her, he grabbed her around the waist and turned her so that she was facing him.
He pulled her body into his and pressed his lips against hers in a passionate kiss.

"My God!! They are making out in full view," Taylor said.
"Taylor, leave them alone. We finally got them together and
you're worried about them making out in full view of our Market?" Patty replied.
"I think it's sweet," Babette agreed.
Luke and Lorelai looked up and saw half the town looking down at them, smiling and laughing.
Luke looked at her, and she looked at him.
"Well you two, it's about damn time!" Patty smiled.
"Yes, yes it is," Sookie pushed her way through.
Luke helped Lorelai up. They took each other's hands and walked away.
