Luke set down his hammer and looked all around. Now where the hell did I put that paintbrush? he wondered. The diner had been slow and Jess was taking care of the few customers that were there- at least, he hoped Jess was taking care of the customers; and Luke was using the time to fix the porch rail on Lorelai's house. He'd noticed the last few times that it was leaning, and he'd taken it apart and put it back, but now it needed another coat of paint. Remembering he'd left the paintbrush on the counter in the bathroom sink last week, he headed inside. Knowing Lorelai- and he did, rather well- it would still be there. He tried the back door, and surely enough it was unlocked. Which didn't surprise him one bit. He'd gone to the trouble of changing their lock so that it worked, and they didn't even bother to use it. He sighed and headed towards the bathroom. Luke was trying to be as quick as possible because he didn't trust Jess with the diner for long. He also wanted to get done before Lorelai got back from work, because she'd lecture him again on the fact that her house didn't need to be repaired. Which it did, but try telling Lorelai that. He opened the bathroom door at the exact moment that Lorelai was pulling back the shower curtain. He stood speechless for a split second before Lorelai looked up and saw him standing there. She jerked back the shower curtain so that she was hidden behind it. "What the hell are you doing in here?" "I.. uh... my paintbrush..."
"I didn't know you were
home." Luke told her as he turned his back to her. Luke could feel his face turning a million shades of red as he couldn't help but think about the fact that behind that shower curtain was Lorelai, wearing absolutely nothing. The fact that he'd just seen that first hand wasn't helping him be any less embarrased. God, she looks good. He stuck the paintbrush in his back pocket. Wait? "You.. uh.. need a towel or something?" She looked at him and smiled. "No... not yet, anyway. I was... uh... I was wondering if you would... could you... could you wash my back for me? I can't reach it and my backbrush just broke a few minutes ago."
"um..yeah..sure," said
Luke a little hesitant. he wasnt sure if it was right to do, but he was
always willing to perform a favor for Lor. an awkward silence followed,
neither of them knowing whether they should speak. but Lorelai being Lorelai
tried to break it.
When Luke finished washing
Lorelai's back, she turned to face him. Oh, Geez! he thought.
Lorelai blindly fumbled to
shut off the water, never breaking their kiss, as she stepped out of the
shower.
"Oh, it definitely meant
something." Luke said. |
