Shower1   By: Kitty, Piper, Christy

Lorelai walks in on Luke in the shower.

Lorelai stood in the grass soaking wet. Stars Hollow was having their annual fund raising car wash and just like every year, they get into a water fight. Almost always leaving Lorelai drenched.

Lorelai look down at her white tank top and shorts, 'Oh God!' The white tank top has become transparent and was clinging to her every curve.

"Um, I'm going to go change" Lorelai yelled to no one in particular. 'Gah, I don't want to run home like this!' Lorelai looked around, 'Luke! I can go up and borrow one of his shirts, he won't mind.'

Lorelai took off across the street and walked into Luke's Diner. She didn't see him anywhere. 'I wonder where he is? Hmm..he's probably in the back.'

Lorelai made her way upstairs and into Luke's apartment. She was dripping water all over Luke's floor. 'I better go into the bathroom and dry off first.'

She stepped over some clothes as made her way towards the bathroom and saw a red plaid flannel shirt. 'I can use this,' she thought and grabbed it. Underneath were a pair of red boxers with little white hearts all over them on the top of the pile. 'Haha,' Lorelai thought, 'He is SO not going to live this down!' She whipped out her waterproof disposable camera she had brought for the car wash and snapped a picture. With a devilish smile on her face, she continued towards the bathroom and threw open the door, just as Luke was stepping out of the shower - towel-less.
"Whoa!" Lorelai exclaimed, obviously shocked, and threw the shirt she had picked up at him. "There. Um, sorry."
"Uh, what-" Luke began to say before Lorelai slammed the door. He heard her scurry down the stairs as fast as she could. 'Alright,' he thought to himself, 'that was a little strange.'
Once in the diner, Lorelai caught a glimpse of her reflection in the window. She was still wet and the shirt situation wasn't getting any better. 'No time for that, must get home and get Rory!' Lorelai thought and ran towards her house, ignoring the stares of Miss Patty and the other townspeople.

Once Lorelai got in her house, she called out for Rory. Not getting an answer, she went to the kitchen to get some water. She drank it greedily. "Oh. My. God! I saw Luke naked." Well, have to admit, it was a pretty nice sight. She thought. How come I never noticed that Luke looked that good? She played the scene over and over in her mind.

Those well toned abs and chest. Not to mention the arms. Among other things. Lorelai shook her head trying to get the image out. Luke is my friend! I can't think about him that way! Lorelai, stop denying it. Luke is more than a friend and you know it! Or at least you want him to be more than a friend.

Just then, the doorbell rang. Forgetting about the condition her clothes were in, she went to the door. She gasped when she saw Luke standing there.

"Luke, I'm so sorry for walking in on you like that. I was just gonna borrow some clothes cuz mine were wet and I didn't want to come all the way home looking like this. I didn't think you'd mind." Lorelai said.

"I wouldn't have minded, Lorelai." Luke replied.

"I know. But, I'm sorry for the whole shower thing."

"It's not a problem."

"Not a problem? How is it not a problem? I saw you...naked, Luke."

"Yeah, so?"

"It doesn't bother you?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Because it's you."

"So if it had been anyone but me? Like say, Rory?"

"That would have been embarassing."

"But, my seeing you wasn't embarassing?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why wasn't it embarassing?"

Luke began to ponder the correct way to answer that question.

"Well, I don't know, it's just that, I'm not really sure..."
"Could you be any more vague?"
Luke laughed a little. "I guess it was kind of embarrassing, but not as embarrassing as it would be if someone else walked in on me."
"We've established that."
"It's just, well, you and me are different," Luke began. 'Why did I just say that?' he asked himself, before saying, "I mean, you did dress me, remember?"
Lorelai thought about it. "Yeah, but I didn't undress you and then dress you again. I gave you clothes, and I put a jacket or two on you."
"And a belt," Luke said with a smile.
"And a belt," Lorelai repeated. "So why did you come over anyway? You wanna come in? I'll make some tea," she said after a little pause in the conversation.
Luke stepped inside the house and they sat down at the kitchen table. "I just wanted to get this slightly awkward conversation out of the way before things got really weird," he said.
"Aw, Luke, you do care about our relationship. I mean, not that we even have a relationship relationship. But if we did, you'd care about it, and that's good. The tea's in that cabinet." As she put a pot of water on the stove, she began to think about her and Luke's non-existant relationship. Why did Rory, Sookie, Miss Patty, and even her mother keep saying there was obviously something between the two of them? Could there actually be some truth to that? Before she knew what she was doing, she turned around and kissed him.

'Whoa!' Luke thought, shocked as Lorelai pressed her lips firmly against his. He wrapped his arms around her waist and returned the kiss. Lorelai parted his lips with her tongue and deepened the kiss.

Suddenly becoming aware that she was still in her soaked top, she stepped back from him.

"I need to get out of these wet clothes before I get pneumonia or something." Lorelai panted.

"Okay." Luke replied as Lorelai started up the stairs. She turned back and looked at him.

"Are you coming?"

"Where?"

"To help me get out of these wet clothes. And you know... to keep me warm afterwards." She smiled.

"Oh! Yeah, I'm coming." He stumbled with his words. Lorelai took his hand and they went up the stairs. Once inside the bedroom, Lorelai shut and locked her door in case Rory came home. Her lips crashed against Luke's again and they both fell back on the bed, Lorelai on top of Luke.
